Staples complaint
Staples in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on 130th Ave. SE

My laptop was under warranty and needed a new powercord. I dropped it off, Manager said 2 days at the very most, but they will call when it is ready.

3 days later, no call, I call the store, the computer is still at the store, hasn't been looked out and needs to be sent out to some place in Toronto. Okay. Should be done within the week.

A week turns into a month and then turns into 1 month! I call their 1800 number to see what the result was. No lender laptop was given to me as well. The lady at the other end told me the laptop needed more than just a cord. She will be in touch. Another month passes and I file a complaint - this time on paper. I get a phone call from the 1800 saying the laptop will be sent bak, it is ready.

I get the laptop after 2 months. I don't know what they did to it as it is heavier than last time. Manager had no idea. IT JUST NEEDED A NEW POWER CORD!

1800 number keeps calling me after I pick it up saying they would like to resolve this issue -- not apologize or send a gift certificate for whatever the *** they did to my laptop.

Will not shop there ever again. I should of kept the laptop and had them order me the cord, but the old manager was rude and said the whole laptop had to go.

I had a similar issue and I was treated very well. I purchased a warranee or what is referred to on the brochure as a technical support plan. This is the higher end plan which covers spills and other issues. I took the P.C. in the tech was very nice. He walked me through the process and I got my machine back within a week. I had no problems.

Usually in situations such as this one, you need to by pass the kids in the store and speak to the store manager. You shouldn't have to wait so long for a repair.

I hope this post was helpful.
