Staples complaint
After receiving a VISA gift card, I recently tried to purchase a GPS unit from Staples.com. Nothing on the website indicated low-stock. I made my purchase, and the next day received an email apologizing for the inconvenience, and stating that they were out of stock on the item I purchased, and the order had been canceled. A bit frustrated, I found another option from a different retailer, and attempted a purchase. To my surprise, my transaction failed to go through. It seems that Staples issued a temporary authorization on my gift card that would take 3 to 4 business days to be released - rendering my funds useless until that time - despite the fact that Staples did not deliver on my purchase! Staples needs to CHECK STOCK before they run full price temporary authorizations. . . . That's just irresponsible, and I'm extremely angry that I can't use my gift card right now, due to their negligence!
